Kennedy Agyapong addresses clash with Abronye DC during NPP 'Thank You Tour'

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a former MP for Assin Central, has spoken out. He addressed a recent clash with Kwame Baffoe, known as Abronye DC. Abronye is the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The altercation happened during the NPP's Thank You Tour. This tour is led by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and took place in Berekum on Monday.

Mr. Agyapong stated he would not tolerate disrespect from any party member. “I will not allow Abronye DC to diss me publicly,” he said. He emphasized that respect must be mutual.

He did not explain the cause of their dispute. However, his comments highlight tensions within the NPP after their loss in the 2024 elections.

Mr. Agyapong finished second in the party’s presidential primaries. He has significant grassroots support and values mutual respect within the party.

He made it clear he won't accept public humiliation from anyone, regardless of rank or title. The incident has sparked discussions among party members about unity and reconciliation.

Many are calling for these efforts as the NPP plans for future elections. Mr. Agyapong shared his thoughts during an interview on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV in Accra.
