Kennedy Agyapong, a failed NPP Flagbearer hopeful, has criticized Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
He spoke at a meeting with legal professionals in Kumasi. Agyapong sought their support for his second bid to lead the NPP.
Agyapong claimed the party lost the election due to Bawumia's Islamic faith. He argued that many Christian leaders opposed Bawumia because he is Muslim.
These leaders allegedly told their members not to vote for a Muslim candidate. Agyapong warned that if Bawumia is elected again, this issue will continue.
After the meeting, several attendees rejected Agyapong's claims as "baseless and divisive." They noted that data from across the country does not support his religious arguments.
