Ernest Owusu Bempah is the Deputy Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He believes that Kennedy Agyapong has strong support from the grassroots.
Owusu Bempah reached this conclusion through conversations with ordinary Ghanaians. He argues that calls for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to run again are misguided.
He insists these claims will not succeed in the 2028 elections. According to him, party leaders should listen to what people want. They should not impose their own ideas.
In an interview with Oyerepa TV, he shared his views. "I listen to the grassroots," he said. "They want Kennedy Agyapong."
He noted that voting dynamics have changed over time. "We can't assume what worked before will work again," he added.
Owusu Bempah recounted an experience in New York. People there expressed frustration about candidate selection. They felt their preferred choice was ignored and threatened not to vote for NPP.
"This is why we need to bring Kennedy Agyapong," he concluded during the interview.
