Kennedy Agyapong will ultimately resign from the NPP – Solomon Owusu

Solomon Owusu, a member of the Movement for Change, predicts Kennedy Agyapong will resign from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Owusu believes Agyapong will withdraw from the NPP’s Thank You Tour. He claims Agyapong will also resign during the party’s primaries.

Speaking on Onue TV, he said, “He will withdraw from the race and quit the party.” He is confident this will happen when the flagbearer contest occurs.

Owusu expressed concern about violence in politics. He noted that if someone was stabbed and Agyapong withdrew from a tour, he would likely leave during the primaries too.

He questioned whether Agyapong would stay in the race if blood was spilled again. “He will surely quit,” Owusu stated.

He recalled a similar situation with Alan Kyerematen. Kyerematen withdrew after a supporter was assaulted during an NPP flagbearer race. At that time, Agyapong's supporters criticized Kyerematen for his decision.

Owusu warned against rejoicing over others' misfortunes. “You may be next to suffer,” he cautioned.

His comments follow Agyapong's withdrawal from the NPP Thank You Tour after a student was stabbed at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Agyapong explained he joined Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for unity but felt unwanted. He stated, “From all indications, it’s very clear I’m not wanted.”

Due to recent events, he decided to pull out for safety reasons. “I don’t think I can adequately protect my team,” he added.

Agyapong emphasized his withdrawal is to protect his people but plans to regroup later. He urged NPP members to avoid one-sided politics that could harm their efforts.
