King Zubah Confirmed As Mayor Of Kumasi

Richard Ofori Agyemang Sworn in as Mayor of Kumasi

Mr. Richard Ofori Agyemang has been confirmed as the Mayor of Kumasi.

The confirmation took place at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).

Fifty-six assembly members were present, including 36 elected and 20 appointed members.

They voted overwhelmingly, with 98.2% supporting his appointment in an election by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Fifty-five members voted Yes, while one member voted No.

After the EC's declaration, Dr. Frank Amoakohene swore in Mr. Agyemang.

He took the Oath of Secrecy and office during the ceremony.

Dr. Amoakohene praised the Assembly Members for their strong support for the President’s nominee.

Mr. Agyemang, also known as King Zubah, expressed deep gratitude to the president for his nomination.

He thanked the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Regional Minister, and other executives for their confidence in him.

He also acknowledged Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, for accepting his nomination.

Mr. Agyemang promised to work in the best interest of Kumasi.
