Mustapha Gbande, the Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, made a bold statement. He said former GIHOC CEO Maxwell Kofi Jumah will soon take his medication in jail.
Gbande claimed that Kofi Jumah's crimes will shock Ghanaians. He emphasized that Jumah has many questions to answer about his alleged actions.
Speaking on Onua TV, Gbande detailed Jumah's alleged wrongdoings. He said Jumah claimed he was untouchable because he is related to President Akufo-Addo. Gbande added that Jumah says he can "move heaven and earth." However, he will take his medication in police custody.
Jumah bought a car for $90,000 but auctioned it to himself for just GH₵40,000 when leaving office. Last week, he fled when police tried to arrest him at his home. They recovered one of the cars in his possession. Gbande accused him of ruining the GIHOC facility in Kumasi.
National security operatives raided Kofi Jumah’s home to recover state-owned vehicles. This raid occurred early on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Reports indicate that Jumah is under investigation for financial misconduct and mismanagement during his tenure.
On August 1, 2019, GIHOC's Board approved Jumah’s purchase of a Genesis G90 saloon car for just GH₵4,943.
