Koforidua Technical University student dies after gas explosion

A student from Koforidua Technical University has died after a gas explosion.

The incident occurred in Oyoko, a suburb of New Juaben North Municipality.

Asante Rose was identified as the deceased student.

A young boy and a woman were also injured in the explosion.

They are currently receiving treatment at the Eastern Regional Hospital.

Citi News reported that a gas leak was found in the kitchen.

Rose attempted to find the source of the leak and lit a match.

This action caused the explosion.

The Ghana National Fire Service responded to contain the situation.

They are also assisting police with their investigations.
