Koo Fori pleads not guilty to $50K fraud; granted ₵320K bail

Ghanaian comic actor Koo Fori, whose real name is Samuel Seth Kwabena Kyere Karikari, has pleaded not guilty. He faces charges of defrauding a US-based Ghanaian of $50,000.

Koo Fori appeared in the Dansoman Circuit Court on May 12. His arrest occurred on May 9 by the Accra Central Police Command. He was charged with defrauding under false pretenses.

The court granted him bail set at ₵320,000 with three sureties. According to police sources, Koo Fori received funds from a victim in California. He promised to facilitate a legitimate investment opportunity.

However, he failed to fulfill this agreement and went into hiding. The victim's identity remains undisclosed. After several attempts to retrieve the money, the victim reported the case to authorities.

Investigations showed that Koo Fori defaulted on repayment. He also ignored a summons to appear before the Dansoman District Court on April 17, 2025. This led to a bench warrant being issued for his arrest.
