The Renal Patients Association has announced that outpatient services at the Korle-Bu Renal Unit have resumed. This follows a one-week suspension that left many patients without treatment.
On Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily, President Kojo Baffour Ahenkora expressed frustration. He criticized the center's poor communication during the disruption. No formal notice was given about the suspension or resumption of services.
Ahenkora confirmed that, according to patient reports, the center is now fully operational. He mentioned that patients were called back for their sessions on Tuesday. Some received treatment yesterday, and others were called in today.
He stressed the importance of transparent updates from the hospital. The lack of official communication has forced patients to rely on hearsay. Ahenkora said proper communication should have been provided to inform patients about the situation.
He added, “We had a problem, but now we have resumed.” This would help reassure patients that they can return for treatment. Although he hasn't visited this morning, he checked with patients who confirmed they are receiving treatment now.
