Kpando MP praises Mahama following peaceful confirmation of MCE nominee

Mr. Killian Donkor has been officially confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Kpando. He received 68% support from assembly members. This long-awaited confirmation has brought renewed optimism to the municipality.

The confirmation ceremony was filled with cheers and chants from supporters. Many hope this marks a new era of collaborative development for Kpando.

During the event, Kpando's Member of Parliament, Sebastian Deh, thanked former President John Dramani Mahama. He called Mr. Donkor an "excellent candidate" for the municipality.

“We hoped for a 100% endorsement,” said MP Deh. “But 68% is a clear majority.”

He noted the excitement in the crowd, with both youth and elders supporting Mr. Donkor. The MP highlighted Mr. Donkor’s experience as a political activist and entrepreneur.

“He has contributed to traditional, educational, and youth development causes,” he added. “He even served as my campaign manager in the last election.”

Deh emphasized unity and cooperation for Kpando's benefit. He stressed that they must work together to implement government policies effectively.

“We need to bring development to our people,” he said. “The President trusts us, and we must deliver.”

Volta Regional Minister James Gunu also spoke at the event. He praised the assembly for supporting the President’s nominee despite their differences.

“You have shown unity in pursuing development,” he stated. “This victory is not just for one person; it’s for all of us.”

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Killian Donkor pledged to collaborate with all stakeholders in Kpando Municipality.

“I begin this chapter with hope and commitment,” he said. “In 60 days, I will engage stakeholders to create plans that drive growth.”

Mr. Donkor promised fair resource distribution and improved access to clean water and public services.

“My administration will align with President Mahama’s agenda,” he concluded, focusing on tangible results for Kpando residents.

The event ended on a positive note, calling for unity and collaboration for grassroots development in Kpando Municipality.
