Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has a new role. He is now the 2nd Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe announced this during a press conference in Accra on Saturday.
Okraku was elected to the CAF Executive Committee unopposed in March. His leadership position within CAF continues to grow.
President Motsepe nominated him, and the CAF Executive Committee approved it in Accra.
Okraku replaces Ahmed Yahya as 2nd Vice President. Faouzi Lekjaa will serve as First Vice President, taking over from Augustine Senghor.
Gabon’s Pierre-Alain Mounguengui is appointed 3rd Vice President. He represents Central Africa and aims to integrate this region into continental football.
His diplomatic approach focuses on grassroots efforts to strengthen unity within CAF.
DR Congo’s Bestine Kazadi Ditabala becomes the Fourth Vice-President. She is a pioneering female leader and reflects CAF’s commitment to gender equality.
Mozambique’s Feizal Sidat is named Fifth Vice-President. He brings decades of experience from his time as President of the Mozambican Football Federation.
These five leaders represent diversity in African football. Their collective experience offers hope for a more unified CAF under Patrice Motsepe's leadership.
Their appointments signal a new direction for African football, ensuring no region or constituency is left behind.
