In a major step towards peace in the Kusaug Traditional Area, the youth of Kusasi and the Ghana Police Service have reconciled. This follows recent violent encounters between them.
The Zug-ran of Kusaug, Bawku Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, intervened. He directed both sides to engage in dialogue and reconciliation. This led to a successful peace process facilitated by the Kusaug Advisory Council.
On April 19, the Zug-ran Palace issued a statement about the peace talks. These talks resulted in an agreement between Kusasi youth leaders and local police authorities.
Following this resolution, the youth launched a sensitisation exercise across six districts and one municipality within Kusaug. The campaign aims to promote peaceful coexistence and collaboration with law enforcement.
The Zug-ran praised both parties for their maturity and patriotism. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the youth's understanding and willingness to embrace peace.
He also acknowledged the professionalism of the police involved. Their cooperation was key to the success of these reconciliation efforts.
This development shows a renewed commitment to peace and unity in the traditional area. The sensitisation campaign is expected to build trust between communities and police.
It will pave the way for long-term collaboration. The Zug-ran’s leadership has received widespread praise for mediating this conflict effectively.
