Veteran journalist Fritz Baffour has raised concerns about the National Signal Bureau (NSB). He believes the Board of Directors should have detected and prevented alleged embezzlement by Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former manager.
On JoyNews' AM Show, Mr. Baffour highlighted flaws in Ghana's systems. He thinks these flaws allowed Adu-Boahene to divert state resources illegally.
As a former Minister and MP for Ablekuma South, he emphasized the Board's role. The Board should actively identify and address financial discrepancies.
Drawing from his experience, he noted the importance of board oversight. He recalled how a Board was involved during his time in office.
Mr. Baffour stated that it is the Board's duty to ensure proper oversight. They must act if they suspect any wrongdoing.
"Every government institution has a Board," he said. "They should monitor all resources and take action on anomalies."
Last week, EOCO arrested Adu-Boahene for allegedly stealing over Ghc30 million. This occurred while he managed the NSB from 2017 to 2025.
He is currently in EOCO custody. His wife, Angela Boateng, was also arrested when visiting him. They are both seeking bail.
