Chief of Staff Julius Debrah announced plans to expand the Kwahu Business Forum. He cited the event’s success as a key reason for this decision.
This year’s forum focused on “The Future of Business: The Role of the Financial Sector.” It aimed to foster entrepreneurship and support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana. Over 20 banks participated, offering support to local businesses and new startups.
Mr. Debrah spoke to journalists in Kwahu about broadening the forum's scope. He mentioned that other sectors, like insurance, expressed interest in joining. They questioned why they were excluded from this year's event.
Next year, all insurance companies will be invited to participate. Financial houses that were not included will also be welcomed. Pension fund managers have indicated their willingness to invest long-term.
The forum will expand significantly next year. It will move to a venue that can host five times more participants than before. This aligns with the government’s goal of nurturing Ghanaian-owned SMEs for export and manufacturing growth.
