Kwakye Ofosu and Ntim Fordjour clash on social media over flight claims after Newsfile

A heated exchange occurred between Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu and Rev. John Ntim Fordjour on X (formerly Twitter).

This followed allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering involving two aircraft in Ghana.

Both men accused each other of distracting from serious national issues. They also exchanged personal insults during the argument.

The clash began when Ofosu called Fordjour a "clown." This was in response to criticisms about the government's handling of alleged drug busts and suspicious flights.

Rev. Fordjour had just left JoyNews' Newsfile after a heated debate with NDC Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi.

During that program, Gyamfi demanded Fordjour's arrest unless he could back up his claims.

Gyamfi argued that serious allegations against a government should have consequences if proven false. He insisted that if Fordjour ignored a National Security invitation, he should be arrested.

Fordjour claimed he was treated unfairly during the show and later responded to Ofosu on X.

Ofosu accused him of spreading misinformation and misleading the public. He called Fordjour's comments unsubstantiated and irresponsible.

“What a clown!” Ofosu tweeted, asserting that Fordjour had no proof for his claims.

Fordjour quickly retaliated, criticizing Ofosu’s handling of investigations into cocaine trafficking.

He accused Ofosu of protecting alleged drug cartels and undermining oversight efforts.

“When cocaine activities are questioned, you resort to insults!” Fordjour replied.

He challenged Ofosu about the missing cocaine and laundered money, questioning how taxpayer money was being used for insults instead of answers.

Ofosu countered by accusing Fordjour of deflecting attention from serious issues with baseless attacks.

“You are wasting everyone’s time with infantile lies!” he said, reiterating that Fordjour had no proof for his claims.

Security analyst Dr. Kwesi Aning expressed concern over how sensitive information is handled by some MPs.

He emphasized the need for professionalism in security oversight roles during an appearance on JoyNews’ Newsfile.

Dr. Aning criticized the politicization of Parliament's Defence and Interior Committee, urging better handling of sensitive information by those with security clearance.
