Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, condemned Reverend John Ntim Fordjour. Rev. Fordjour is the Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee. He allegedly spread false information about "suspicious aircraft" at Kotoka International Airport.
Minister Kwakye Ofosu accused Rev. Fordjour of misleading the public. This followed Rev. Fordjour's call for an urgent briefing on two aircraft: AirMed Flight N823AM and a Cavok Air Antonov An-12 B. Rev. Fordjour suggested these planes might have smuggled cocaine and cash into the country.
In response to these allegations, authorities invited Rev. Fordjour to assist in investigations. President John Dramani Mahama also ordered a full-scale probe into the claims for transparency.
However, Minister Kwakye Ofosu dismissed these allegations as baseless. He called them a deliberate attempt to undermine public trust in government operations. He described Rev. Fordjour’s actions as irresponsible and lacking credible evidence.
The minister urged the public to disregard such unfounded claims. He assured that the government is committed to maintaining airport operations' integrity and national security.
