Independent MP-elect for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, widely known as Kwame A Plus, is reportedly being considered by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the position of 2nd Deputy Speaker in Ghana's next Parliament.
Speaking to MyNewsGH, A Plus expressed gratitude for the recognition, though he noted that he has not received official communication about the potential role.
“Even the consideration or rumour is a great honour, considering where I’ve come from,” he remarked.
A Plus won the December 7 parliamentary election with 14,277 votes, defeating incumbent Naana Eyiah Quansah of the NPP (11,637 votes) and Ywason Mohamed of the NDC (10,112 votes).
Known for his outspoken nature and critiques of the outgoing NPP government, A Plus has also made a mark as a political commentator on UTV's *United Showbiz*.
