Kwesi Pratt questions secrecy around Mike Oquaye Committee report

Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt has raised concerns about the NPP's handling of the Mike Oquaye Committee report.

On Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana, he questioned why party members can't access the final document.

Pratt recalled that the NPP promised to listen to its members after poor election results. They claimed this led to forming the Mike Oquaye Committee.

He expressed surprise that only one copy of the report was made. This copy was presented to the national council, leaving Mike Oquaye without his own version.

Pratt criticized the secrecy surrounding the report. He wondered why those who contributed cannot see what they said.

He emphasized that rebuilding the party in secret is illogical. “How do you rebuild without seeing the report?” he asked.

Pratt noted that people usually hide bad things, not good ones. This suggests there may be troubling content in the report.

He compared this situation to the NDC's Kwesi Botchwey Committee. The NDC faced pressure to make their report public, unlike the secretive approach of the NPP regarding Oquaye's report.
