Labour Ministry, GIZ Ghana and YEA launch 'Work Abroad Programme'

The Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations in Ghana has teamed up with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) to unveil a new initiative aimed at facilitating overseas job opportunities for Ghanaians. This program, designed to bridge the gap between local unemployment and global job markets, will provide training and resources to equip participants with essential skills tailored for international employment.

During the launch event, officials emphasized the importance of this initiative not only in addressing domestic job challenges but also in enhancing the employability of Ghanaians abroad. The program aims to connect skilled workers with international employers while ensuring that candidates are well-prepared for the demands of foreign labor markets.

By promoting safe migration practices, the collaboration seeks to mitigate risks associated with working abroad. Participants will receive guidance on navigating legal requirements and cultural adjustments, thereby fostering successful integration into new environments. This progressive step is expected to empower youth and enhance their economic prospects both locally and internationally.
