Lands Minister calls for an emergency meeting to crackdown on illegal mining

Ghana’s Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has pledged intensified efforts against illegal mining (galamsey), particularly in the Central Region, due to its impact on water supplies.

Law enforcement will target affected areas within 24 hours, aiming to address environmental damage and water shortages caused by these activities.
