Last eight years was hell for me in Ghana – Prof Kwesi Aning

Security consultant Professor Kwesi Aning has described the past eight years under the Akufo-Addo administration as "hell," revealing that he faced numerous threats aimed at intimidating him and suppressing his work.

Speaking on Morning Starr, Aning explained that the period was challenging, with officials attempting to undermine his professional efforts.

He expressed little expectation from the new administration but hopes to regain a working environment where he can speak freely without fear.

“My expectation is to speak the way I’ve always spoken... Earlier on, I could speak and write, and go to bed in peace. No one threatened my job or tried to silence me,” he said.

This is not the first time Aning has publicly discussed threats against him; in 2018, he revealed receiving similar messages due to his commentary on security matters.
