Lawyer Frederick Festinous Faidoo confirmed as Sekondi-Takoradi MCE

The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly has confirmed Lawyer Frederick Festinous Faidoo as the new Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE).

Lawyer Faidoo is a former parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Takoradi. He received 41 votes out of 52 total ballots cast. This secured his position as the new CEO of the Assembly.

A swearing-in ceremony took place on Tuesday, April 15. During this event, he thanked the President for his nomination and the assembly members for their support.

In his inaugural address, Lawyer Faidoo shared his vision for the metropolis. He pledged to enhance local economic development to create jobs. He also aims to improve revenue mobilization and enforce bylaws more efficiently.

"I will encourage strong collaboration between the Assembly and the judiciary," he stated. He emphasized his commitment to inclusive governance. He promised to work closely with Members of Parliament and key institutions under a "resetting agenda."

"My tenure will focus on consultation with stakeholders in decision-making," he added. He is committed to accountability through good governance practices. This includes periodic engagements and town hall meetings.

In related news, Otis Dentu has been confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Shama. He is also an NDC member and serves as the Constituency Communication Officer for Shama.
