Legal expert rejects comparisons between Aisha Huang, Delta Force, and Mahama-era case withdrawals

Legal expert Kwame Adofo has dismissed public comparisons between the trial of Chinese national Aisha Huang, the Delta Force case, and the recent decision by Attorney General Dominic Ayine to drop several high-profile legal cases.

Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show, Adofo argued that such comparisons are misleading, emphasizing that both Aisha Huang and Delta Force cases had distinct legal outcomes.

He explained that Aisha Huang was deported, later re-entered Ghana, and was eventually tried and convicted.

Similarly, members of the pro-NPP Delta Force vigilante group were charged, convicted, and fined after storming a court in Kumasi in 2017.

Adofo pointed out that while a nolle prosequi was initially filed in Aisha Huang’s case, she was later prosecuted when she returned.

In contrast, he said the current case withdrawals involve high-profile figures who have not yet faced full legal scrutiny.

“The comparisons being made are inaccurate. The Delta Force and Aisha Huang cases were settled legally, unlike the cases now being discontinued by the state,” Adofo concluded.
