Let's work together for sustainable development - Tano South MCE tells workers

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Tano South, Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, urged local workers to unite. He emphasized the importance of peace and purpose for sustainable development.

On Thursday, he made a statement in Bechem for May Day. Mr. Frimpong praised workers for their hard work and dedication. He specifically acknowledged those in the Tano South municipality.

This year's Workers' Day theme is "Reclaiming the Civic Space in the Midst of Economic Hardship." He commended workers who contribute to progress and development in society.

May Day, or International Workers' Day (IWD), honors the working class. It commemorates their struggles for fair wages and better conditions. The day recognizes worker contributions and advocates for their rights.

The celebration has roots in ancient spring festivals and labor movements. It highlights the fight for an eight-hour workday.

May Day also serves as a platform to recognize Ghanaian workers' dedication. It addresses ongoing labor issues and encourages dialogue between government and labor organizations.

"On this special occasion, I extend heartfelt wishes to all hardworking individuals," Mr. Frimpong stated. He especially recognized those in Tano South.

He reiterated the vital contributions of local workers to their communities and nation. "Your tireless efforts are our backbone and a symbol of hope," he said.

"As your MCE, I commend your resilience," he added. "Let's continue working together for a brighter future." He assured them that their labor is deeply appreciated.
