National Chief Imam, Shaikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has called for change. He wants moral reawakening and social transformation. He also seeks an end to global conflicts. This message comes as Muslims in Ghana prepare for Eid-Al-Adha.
His Personal Assistant, Dr Abubakari Mohammed Marzuq Azindoo, delivered the message. The Chief Imam emphasized that Eid is more than rituals. It is a spiritual call to piety and humanity.
“Eid-Al-Adha is about sacrifice and reaffirming our faith in Allah,” he said. He reminded Muslims that “Allah cares more about our commitment to piety than animal sacrifices.”
Shaikh Sharubutu addressed urgent global issues too. He highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and other conflict areas.
He urged leaders and citizens to choose peace over violence. “We cannot surrender our humanity to modern-day barbarity,” he stated.
He called for a global order based on righteousness, unity, forgiveness, reconciliation, and peace.
The Chief Imam drew from shared values of Abrahamic faiths. True sacrifice means rejecting selfishness and promoting the collective good.
He encouraged Ghanaians to let Eid inspire positive change in society.
