Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President, is the NPP's flagbearer for 2024. He urged party members to unite for rebuilding efforts before the 2028 elections.
On May 8, he spoke in the Volta Region during the NPP’s Thank You Tour. He stressed that today's actions will shape the party's future in four years.
Reflecting on the last election, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged their disappointment. However, he encouraged members not to focus on past failures.
“We did not achieve our desired result, but that is behind us,” he said. “What matters is how we rise and strengthen our party.”
He proposed specific steps for revitalization. This includes creating strong constituency caucuses and recruiting new volunteers.
“We must rebuild our grassroots presence,” Dr. Bawumia insisted. He emphasized that everyone has a role in restoring confidence among Ghanaians.
Speaking to supporters in Ho, he noted the importance of the Volta Region. This area has traditionally supported opposition parties.
“This region is ripe for transformation,” he stated. By addressing local concerns and keeping promises, they can earn community trust.
Looking toward 2028, Dr. Bawumia called for unity: “Let us all rise and rebuild together.” He believes victory in 2028 is achievable with talent and resolve.
His speech ended with a commitment to a unified campaign focused on progress.
