The President of All Nations University, Reverend Dr. Samuel Donkor, is worried about Ghana's food imports.
He noted that Ghana has plenty of fertile land.
"Why should we be importing food when we have arable lands?" he asked.
"We should be feeding the rest of the world," he added.
Reverend Dr. Donkor spoke at the university's matriculation ceremony in Koforidua on Saturday.
He stressed the need to rethink national priorities regarding agriculture.
"It is a shame that we import food from China and Dubai," he said.
He believes this happens because agriculture is not taken seriously in Ghana.
