List of Mahama's 5-member committee to review petitions against CJ

President John Mahama has formed a five-member committee. This committee will investigate petitions against the Chief Justice of Ghana.

The group includes respected figures from various sectors. They come from legal, military, academic, and public service backgrounds. Their goal is to conduct a thorough inquiry into the allegations.

The committee was established under Article 146(6) of the Constitution. Its members are:

- Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang (Chairman): A seasoned Supreme Court Justice with extensive judicial experience.

- Justice Samuel Kwame Adibu-Asiedu: Another respected Supreme Court Justice known for impartiality and commitment to the law.

- Daniel Yaw Domelevo: The former Auditor-General, recognized for his anti-corruption efforts and accountability focus.

- Major Flora Bazwaanura Dalugo: Representing the Ghana Armed Forces, she brings a disciplined perspective to the committee.

- Prof James Sefah Dzisah: An Associate Professor at the University of Ghana, he adds academic insight and analytical depth.

President Mahama believes there is enough evidence for further investigation into the Chief Justice.

As a result, he has suspended the Chief Justice pending this inquiry. This action follows Article 146(10) of the Constitution.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, spokesperson for the President, confirmed these appointments on April 22.

The committee is expected to start work immediately. Its findings may significantly impact Ghana’s judicial leadership in the future.
