Lower Manya Krobo NDC rejects MCE nominee

A group of National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives in Lower Manya Krobo is demanding action. They call themselves the Grassroots of the NDC. They want the immediate withdrawal of John Atter Matey as Municipal Chief Executive nominee.

Mr. Matey is currently the NDC Constituency Chairman. He was nominated by the President for this position. The group views this nomination as a betrayal of loyalty and service.

At a press conference at the party’s office in Nuaso, convenor Odonkor David Dei spoke out. He criticized the nomination, stating there are better candidates available.

"We have competent men and women within the party," he said. "They know our structure and have served for over three decades."

He added that these individuals applied for the same position but were ignored. "The choice of the people has been denied by the president," he stated.

Dei emphasized that loyalty and long service have been overlooked. This decision favors inexperience and arrogance instead, he concluded.
