The Constituency Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress in Atiwa East has defended its chairman. He is currently a leading candidate for District Chief Executive.
They called recent allegations against Ernest Owusu Ntim unfounded and politically motivated. The committee believes these attacks aim to damage his reputation.
In a press conference in Anyinam, they urged party leadership to ignore these attempts. They claim the allegations are meant to tarnish the chairman's image.
The committee noted that Mr. Ntim has received massive support across the constituency. They believe some disgruntled individuals are behind the attacks due to his popularity.
They asked the national NDC leadership to dismiss any complaints against Mr. Ntim. They want him rewarded for his loyalty with the DCE appointment.
Youth organizer William Addo Kyei spoke out against the attackers. He said, "These individuals were absent during our campaign but now seek to harm our chairman’s image."
He described their actions as personal vendettas that should not be taken seriously. The group emphasized Mr. Ntim’s dedication to expanding party support and funding campaigns.
During recent elections, he sponsored parliamentary candidates with materials and logistics. He also provided school furniture, student footwear, and boreholes for communities in need.
They argued that Mr. Ntim's long service and educational background make him suitable for DCE. A person who lost an election does not automatically qualify over someone with ten years of faithful service.
Mr. Owusu Ntim holds a Master’s degree and is their best choice for DCE. Intense lobbying continues as President Mahama prepares to announce an appointee for the position.
