MO-AJ Foundation commissions memorial bus along Accra-Tema Beach road

To honor Mark Ofosu-Ampadu Jr., the MO-AJ Foundation has built a memorial bus stop. This bus stop is located along the Accra-Tema Beach road, near the Regional Maritime University.

The new bus stop serves as a practical addition to local infrastructure. It also symbolizes loss, hope, and purpose born from pain.

Mark was only 29 when he died in a preventable road accident. His death highlighted failures in road safety and emergency response.

At the ceremony, Mrs. Christine Opoku Onyinah spoke passionately. She is Mark’s sister and a director of the Foundation.

“We’ve been sold a big lie,” she said. “Our existence is not just about us.” She emphasized that true purpose involves helping others.

Christine reflected on her family’s grief over the past five years. She urged everyone to ensure that Mark's pain was not in vain.

“Mark’s death was not just an infrastructure failure,” she stated. “It was a failure of humanity.” The Foundation aims to advocate for road safety and support victims' families.

The bus stop will serve both university students and the local church community. It stands as a reminder of their mission for safer roads.

“Until our roads are safer, we will not rest,” Christine affirmed.

Apostle Seth Kwame Fianko-Larbi, District Pastor of PIWC Sakumono, offered encouragement to the family. He shared thoughts on God’s sovereignty and human responsibility during his address.

He reminded attendees that every life fits within God's plan, whether through suffering or service. He called on everyone to find their purpose.

Prophet James Osei Amaniampong (Rtd) officially dedicated the bus stop. Mark's parents cut the ribbon with family and friends present to celebrate his memory.

Attendees included members of PIWC Sakumono and representatives from various organizations. They gathered in solidarity to honor Mark and support the Foundation's mission.

Ms. Shika Attipoe received the donation on behalf of Regional Maritime University. She praised the Foundation for its thoughtfulness regarding student safety and convenience.

The MO-AJ Foundation was established in 2021 after Mark's passing. Its work reflects values like compassion, service, and improving lives.

Since then, it has engaged in public advocacy and supported victims of road accidents. The memorial bus stop continues this vision as both a functional gift and call to action.

“In the end,” Christine concluded, “the fight for road safety is necessary, urgent, and just.”
