MPHIL student jailed for admission fraud; faces more fraud cases

Mr. Frank Anderson, a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) student at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has been jailed for admission fraud.

He has been dismissed from the university. He faces charges of admission fraud, certificate fraud, and falsifying academic results. Mr. Anderson gained notoriety for manipulating grades and securing “Protocol Admissions” for fees between GHS 1,000 and GHS 3,000.

The university stated that there was no evidence he accessed UEW’s official grading system (OSIS 2). Instead, he created fake PDF versions of students’ results and fabricated WASSCE certificates. Mr. Anderson operated mainly in Suhum, Mangoase, Nsawam, and Winneba.

The statement emphasized that UEW completely dissociates itself from Mr. Anderson's fraudulent activities. He acted independently and without any authorization from the university.

UEW upholds high standards of academic integrity and does not condone fraud. The university is committed to working with law enforcement to ensure all involved face legal consequences.

UEW is dedicated to preserving the integrity of its admissions and academic processes. All official procedures must be strictly followed. Therefore, UEW will pursue strong measures against fraudulent conduct relentlessly.
