MTN Ghana honours community champions at 2025 Heroes of Change Awards

MTN Ghana held its annual humanitarian awards, the MTN Heroes of Change, on May 30. The event took place at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.

The program recognizes individuals who contribute significantly to their communities. It focuses on economic empowerment, education, and health for the underprivileged.

Ten finalists were honored during the ceremony. The overall award went to Dr. Angela Dwamena-Aboagye, founder of the Ark Foundation. She received GH¢100,000 for her two decades of gender-based advocacy.

Winners in specific categories included Martha Opoku Agyemang for Health and Adangabey Yaw Rockson for Education. Sakina Mumuni won for Economic Empowerment. Each category winner received GH¢60,000 for their projects.

In a new Digital category, Nana Tea and the Bus Stop Boys were jointly recognized. They each received GH¢30,000 for using digital platforms to help those in need.

The MTN Heroes of Change program aims to reward selfless individuals and institutions making a difference in Health, Education, and Economic Development.

During the event, the MTN Foundation presented cash awards to all honorees. This reinforces its commitment to recognizing acts of compassion and service.

Top executives from MTN Ghana attended the celebration. Notable attendees included CEO Stephen Blewett and Board Chairman Prof. Frankline Manu. Other executives present were Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe and Georgina Asare Fiagbenu.
