John Mahama Appoints Francis-Xavier Sosu to GRA Board
Lawyer Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu has been appointed to the Ghana Revenue Authority's Board of Directors. He is the Member of Parliament for Madina. Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson inaugurated the new board on April 30.
Sosu joins eight other members on this board. The board is led by Hon. George Ricketts Hagan and includes Anthony Sarpong, Patrick Nomo, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Dr. Zakaria Mumuni, Madam Faustina Nelson, George Ayiretey, and Hon. Laadi Ayamba.
During the inauguration, Ato Forson highlighted the economic challenges facing the government. He mentioned tight financing conditions and reduced support from development partners due to debt restructuring.
The Finance Minister tasked the board with modernizing the GRA. He emphasized the need for integrity and combating smuggling effectively. Additionally, he plans to sign a performance bonus agreement with the Commissioner-General of GRA.
