Mahama: Attorney General compiling 33 corruption cases against former officials

President John Dramani Mahama announced that the Attorney-General is preparing 33 cases. These cases involve allegations of corruption against former government officials.

This development follows investigations by the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Team. President Mahama established this anti-corruption task force after the 2024 elections.

The ORAL Team focused on identifying and documenting corruption acts from the previous administration. After completing its work, they submitted their findings to the Attorney-General's Office for action.

While speaking to the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption, President Mahama confirmed court proceedings would begin soon. He stated, “We set up the ORAL Committee, and they have identified 33 cases.”

He added that special investigative teams are looking into each case. Some investigations revealed evidence of property procurement with illicit wealth. Many cases are just starting prosecution, while others have already begun.

President Mahama reiterated his government's commitment to transparency and accountability. He stressed that the fight against corruption will not spare anyone, regardless of political affiliation.
