President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians to embrace Easter's spirit. He wants everyone to work together to revive the struggling economy. In his Easter message on April 18, he emphasized unity, resilience, and truth as essential for national restoration.
Mahama encouraged Ghanaians to draw inspiration from Christ's resurrection. He believes this strength can help overcome economic hardship and social discouragement. "That same resurrection power lives in all of us," he said.
His message comes during a time of high inflation and unemployment. Many Ghanaians feel uncertain about the country's future. However, Mahama remains optimistic that collective action can lead to change.
"As a fellow believer and a Ghanaian, I believe our nation will rise again," he stated. He is confident that the economy will recover and opportunities will arise for youth. Families will flourish if everyone works together.
The president stressed that cooperation across all sectors is crucial. "All of us—government, churches, businesses, and communities—must unite," he said. This unity is necessary for the nation to rise again.
Meanwhile, Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang also shared Easter wishes on Facebook. She encouraged citizens to renew their commitment to building a kinder and fairer nation during this season.
