President John Mahama has apologized for the delayed invitation extended to the Christian Council of Ghana and the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference to the National Education Forum in Ho.
The apology comes after the clergy expressed disappointment over their exclusion from critical discussions on education reforms.
Speaking at the forum’s launch, Mahama acknowledged the oversight and reassured faith-based organizations of his government’s commitment to inclusivity.
He described the omission as an "unpardonable mistake" and expressed confidence that the religious leaders would extend their forgiveness. He also emphasized their vital role in education, given their ownership of many schools.
The forum brought together policymakers, education experts, civil society, and religious groups to discuss strategies for improving Ghana’s education system.
