Mahama appoints Abdallah Mashud as Technical Director of SSNIT

President John Mahama has appointed Abdallah Mashud as the Technical Director of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).

Mashud is currently the Executive Director at the Africa Center for Retirement Research. The appointment was made on March 24, 2025.

He will provide strategic guidance and policy recommendations to SSNIT. He is expected to lead President Mahama’s Pension Reforms Agenda in this role.

**Profile**

Mr. Abdallah holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He also has an MSc in Actuarial Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

He specializes in designing public social security schemes and their governance. He has over ten years of experience working with SSNIT.

Before this appointment, he led the Africa Center for Retirement Research (ACRR). He is also a member of the International Network for Pension Research (INPeR).

Mr. Abdallah brings practical knowledge of Social Security Systems and Governance. He is recognized as a Pension Researcher and Consultant.
