Mahama appoints Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu as acting government statistician

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu as the Acting Government Statistician. This appointment is pending consultations with the Council of State.

Dr. Iddrisu is an experienced economist. He currently serves as the Director of the Economic Strategy and Research Division at the Ministry of Finance. He has been instrumental in macroeconomic analysis, forecasting, and policy research.

He provides technical guidance for the Ghana Macroeconomic Outlook Report. Additionally, he contributes to the National Budget and Economic Policy.

Dr. Iddrisu has held leadership roles in economic research and forecasting. His work has influenced key policy decisions and governance strategies.

He holds a PhD in International Development Studies from Japan’s National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies. He also has degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of Ghana.

The appointment was confirmed in a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who is the spokesperson for the President.
