Mahama appoints Dr. Nii Moi Thompson as NDPC Chairman

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Nii Moi Thompson as Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), pending consultations with the Council of State.

Announcing the appointment in a statement on February 3, Acting Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu highlighted Dr. Thompson’s previous role as NDPC Director-General, where he contributed to Ghana’s 40-Year Development Plan and helped integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into national policies.

Additionally, Mahama has appointed Albert Kwadwo Twum Boafo as Acting CEO of the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) until the Board is reconstituted.

A civil engineer and finance expert, Twum Boafo previously led the Ghana Free Zones Authority from 2009 to 2017.
