President John Dramani Mahama has appointed former Odododiodio MP, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, as the National Coordinator for the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).
Launched in July 2024 under former President Nana Akufo-Addo, DRIP aims to improve road infrastructure across Ghana’s 275 constituencies by equipping Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) with essential resources for road maintenance and construction.
Vanderpuye, known for advocating transparency in DRIP’s implementation, is expected to bring accountability and efficiency to the initiative.
His experience as a former Minister of Youth and Sports, as well as Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry under Mahama’s previous administration, positions him to oversee the program effectively.
His appointment signals a renewed push to enhance local road networks nationwide.
