President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Prof. Seidu Alidu as the new Executive Secretary of the Water Resources Commission.
Prof. Alidu is an Associate Professor and Head of the Political Science Department at the University of Ghana. He has extensive experience in academia, public policy, and governance.
In 2014, he was a Donahue Institute Scholar at the University of Massachusetts. He also served as a fellow at the Maria Sibylla Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa (MIASA). His research there focused on parliaments and democracy in Africa.
Prof. Alidu has worked with various international and local policy institutions. These include the Partnership for African Social and Governance Research in Nairobi, Kenya, and others across Europe and Africa.
He has published widely in his field. His articles have appeared in journals like Peace Review and Criminal Justice Studies.
His new role will benefit from his broad experience and scholarly background. This expertise will help guide water resource policy and governance initiatives effectively.
Additionally, Prof. Lord Mensah has been appointed Head of Local Government Service.
