Former President John Dramani Mahama attended the ordination ceremony of Most Reverend Francis Bomansaan as the new Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Wa on August 2.
Born in 1962 in Kaleo, Bishop Bomansaan has had a distinguished career as a Catholic priest since 1990.
Mahama, the NDC flag bearer, praised the Catholic Church for its national support, congratulated the new Bishop, and urged prayers for Ghana, especially ahead of the 2024 elections.
He emphasized the need for a fair and transparent electoral process, stressing the importance of protecting democracy and peaceful coexistence.
Mahama also fondly remembered the late Cardinal Richard Kuuia Baawobr.
