Mahama commends Ato Forson, BoG Governor for stabilising economy

President John Dramani Mahama praised Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama. He recognized their efforts to recover Ghana's economy during a durbar at Wa Jubilee Park. This event was part of his thank-you tour in the Upper West Region on May 15, following his victory in the 2024 elections.

Mahama highlighted the collaboration between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank. He called it a key factor in recent signs of economic stabilization. "I commend the Honorable Minister of Finance, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, and their teams for their close collaboration," he stated.

The President expressed optimism about the economy's future. He expects more positive developments in the coming months. "By August, when the Honorable Minister presents his mid-year budget review, we will have good news for Ghanaians," he added.

His comments come as public interest grows in Ghana’s economic outlook. The Ghanaian cedi is appreciating, showing signs of improvement. This has renewed confidence among policymakers and financial institutions.
