Mahama commends Ato Forson and BoG Governor for spearheading economic turnaround

President John Dramani Mahama praised the teamwork between the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Ghana. He believes this partnership helped Ghana's recent economic recovery.

Mahama spoke at a gathering of chiefs and residents in Wa Jubilee Park on Thursday, May 15. This event was part of his post-election thank-you tour. He specifically commended Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama.

“I commend the Honourable Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Bank of Ghana,” Mahama said. He highlighted their close collaboration in improving the economy.

The cedi is strengthening, and key economic indicators are improving. The former President feels optimistic about Ghana’s economic future. He suggested that better news may come soon.

“I believe that by August, when the Honourable Minister presents his mid-year budget review, we will have even more good news for Ghanaians,” he added.
