Former President John Mahama has denied allegations linking him to an attack on the convoy of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in Techiman.
The incident, which took place on December 2, involved unidentified youth hurling stones at the Asantehene’s convoy.
Mahama dismissed the video circulating online as "fake news" and AI-generated, accusing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of being behind the smear campaign.
He clarified that he had prayed for Otumfuo's safe journey to a funeral and had no involvement in the attack.
Mahama attributed the fake news to the NPP's struggles in the election season and criticized the ruling government for mismanagement and corruption.
