Mahama expresses confidence in new District Assemblies Common Fund administrator

President John Mahama is confident in the new administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF). Michael Harry Yamson has extensive experience in institutional reform and financial management.

At a swearing-in ceremony, President Mahama praised Yamson's expertise. He believes it will strengthen DACF operations and support Ghana’s decentralisation agenda.

“I’m confident you will use your experience to enhance the DACF,” said President Mahama. He emphasized that efficient fund management is crucial for local governance.

The President noted that timely and adequate resource disbursement is also essential. "My government recognizes that this is critical for success," he added.

Parliament approved Michael Harry Yamson as DACF administrator on March 21. His appointment followed a unanimous recommendation from the Appointments Committee.

The committee highlighted his competence and ability to manage the role effectively. The DACF supports local district assemblies in providing public goods and services. It provides financial resources for implementing development plans.
