Former Attorney-General Godfred Dame has accused the Mahama-led administration of deliberately dropping high-profile criminal cases to shield its officials from prosecution.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, he described the move as a calculated attempt to exonerate former government appointees outside judicial processes.
Dame criticized Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine’s decision to discontinue seven cases, arguing that it undermines the rule of law and sets a troubling precedent.
While Ayine defends the move as necessary due to weak cases, Dame insists it signals political favoritism. He further accused the government of acting as a “clearing agent” for alleged wrongdoing, warning that such actions erode Ghana’s democratic principles.
Dame remains confident that Ghanaians will see through the strategy and demand accountability.
