Mahama heads to 60th AfDB meeting in Abidjan, election of new president on the agenda

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire. He is there for the 60th Annual Meeting of the African Development Bank. He will also attend the 51st Annual Meeting of the African Development Fund.

Accompanying President Mahama are his Executive Secretary, Dr. Calistus Mahama, and Deputy Chief of Staff Stanliv Dogbe.

Upon arrival at Felix Houphoet Boigny International Airport, he was welcomed by Kone Amadou, the Ivorian Minister of Transport.

The meeting officially opens today, May 27, 2025. Its theme is "Making Africa’s Capital Work Better for Africa’s Development."

A key highlight will be electing a new President. This new leader will replace Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, who has completed two terms and cannot run again.
