President John Mahama paid tribute to the late former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt Gen. Arnold Quainoo, during his funeral at Burma Camp, Accra.

Describing him as a selfless patriot, Mahama emphasized that Quainoo's generation was marked by nationalism, contrasting it with today's materialism.

The ceremony, attended by dignitaries including former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings and Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, featured a solemn Catholic service and a wreath-laying tribute.

Lt Gen. Quainoo, a key figure in Ghana’s military history and the first ECOMOG commander, was laid to rest at the Military Cemetery.

His legacy in Ghana’s Armed Forces and beyond remains a testament to his dedication and leadership.
